Healthcare Providers Digital Exchange
Supply chain risk mitigation technology provider Resilinc has announced an intention to operationalize a Cloud based inventory bartering platform to be termed The Exchange, specifically for use by U.S. wide hospitals and healthcare delivery institutions. This platform was announced in a webinar held this week that included partners Stanford Healthcare, healthcare GPO Premier, and United Parcel Service.
The purpose of this platform is to provide an online means for hospitals to seek out the availability of critically needed medical supplies from other hospitals willing to trade inventory. Hospitals can search the platform for items of need but must be willing to offer items in-return. The analogy is one of an online swap meet. According to Resilinc, all users are to be vetted and because of the basis of bartering, no cash is to be exchanged.
Plans currently call for this platform to go live by mid-April in the United States. Resilinc’s Healthcare Transparency Initiative board of directors will be tasked with maintaining oversight or settling disputes and concerns among exchanging partners.
During the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Resilinc will not charge for use of The Exchange until September 2020.
