A Biopharmaceutical Company’s Readiness for Category 5 Hurricane Ensures 100% of Patients Receive Care
Category 5 Hurricane Maria was heading toward Puerto Rico and projected to be the worst hurricane to hit the island in decades. Realizing the likelihood of supply chain impact (and that patient care was ultimately at stake), this Multinational Biopharmaceutical Company needed to mobilize to avoid risk surrounding supply shortages, revenue loss, and patient services. Having previously partnered with Resilinc on a Multi-Tier Mapping solution, the company had already successfully mapped its supply chain down to the part-site level; this included suppliers and sites in Puerto Rico. This sub-tier visibility enabled the company to put proactive mitigation efforts in place and offset the supply chain disruptions that plagued other companies.
Key insights:
- 30 parts from 2 suppliers quickly identified
- $1.5M of IV bag inventory secured within 4 days of the storm
- 100% of patients received care
